Dreamhouse Cottage Hot Water Bottle CoverSnuggle down warmly every bedtime this autumn with my sweet cottage hot water bottle cover. The cover is knit flat (back and forth) on a pair of 4mm single pointed knitting needles. I used stockinette stitch for the cottage, with a textured rib pattern for the thatched roof. The door and window are knitted separately and sewn on so there is no tricky colour-work to master here. I used Deramores Studio DK yarn for my project, which is an acrylic yarn that you can pop in the washing machine if your cover gets grubby. Any similar DK weight yarn would work as well. This is designed to fit a 2 litre hot water bottle, for which the standard measurements are 20cm wide and 28cm tall, excluding the neck and stopper. Pocket CatsKnit a parade of purr-fect pocket kitties for yourself or your favourite cat loving friend with my quintet of tiny toys. This set includes cats in different poses: seated, stretching, standing and lying. Each has a different colour pattern, and you can follow my colours or make a cat of you own design. For my cats I chose Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK yarn, which is 100% acrylic and a super yarn for toy making. I also sourced 7.5mm cat toy safety eyes from a local craft shop, and these can also be found online from a variety of sellers. To make the cats you will also need 3.25mm needles and some toy filling. 🏠 🐈⬛ 🏠 🐈 🏠
I hope you enjoy these new projects, and happy knitting!
