My little astronaut has taken a giant leap onto a moon base. With my new Moon Landing knitting pattern you can make your own ornament, which includes the astronaut, moon base and flag. This stands at 14.5cm tall (moon base plus astronaut). Most pieces are knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight single-pointed 3.25mm knitting needles. Some of the techniques used in this pattern includes casting on and off, knit, purl, working increases and decreases, and sewing seams. I knitted my astronaut using Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK yarns, which are acrylic washable DK weight yarns ideal for toy making. This pattern is suitable for advanced beginner or intermediate knitters. To make your Moon Landing will also need a tapestry needle for seaming, a few handfuls of toy filling, button, felt fabric and embroidery thread to decorate, and a bamboo skewer for the flagpole. 🌜🚀👨🏾🚀🌛
I hope you will be “over the moon” with this pattern, and happy knitting!
