I am excited to introduce my new toy bunnies pattern. These rabbits are the perfect challenge for intermediate knitters, and make cuddly little pets for loved ones young and old. The pattern is available from LoveCrafts.com at the link below. For each bunny I used two 100g skeins of Deramores Studio DK yarn, an acrylic washable DK weight yarn that is great for toy making. Each of the three rabbits uses the same knitting pattern but using different colours (from left to right): Ebony & Frost, Gingerbread & Frost, or Chocolate & Frost. These bunnies are knitted on single pointed needles (not in the round), and I used a pair of 3.25mm knitting needles (a US size 3). I used a three needle bind off for the ears, so you will also need a third 3.25mm needle to work that cast off. These are mostly knitted in stockinette stitch and with garter stitch for the tails. Other techniques I used include short row shaping on the body, increases and decreases, and knitting stripes (changing colour at the end of a row) To finish your bunnies will also need 12mm toy safety eyes, stitch markers, and a bag of toy filling. Each rabbit when complete is 22cm long. 🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇
I hope you enjoy knitting your rabbits too, keep safe out there, and happy knitting!
