Here comes the bride! I am excited to introduce my new Bride and Groom dolls knitting pattern. My bride has a bouquet of pink flowers and a full skirt, and the groom is very dapper with his pink bowtie and co-ordinated buttonhole flower. These delightful little dolls could be made as cake toppers, table decorations or mementos for guests. You could change the colours of yarn to personalise your dolls to resemble the human brides and grooms too. I knitted my dolls using Deramores Studio Anti-Pilling DK yarn, which is an acrylic washable DK weight yarn is great for toy making. This pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters, and the dolls are knitted on single pointed needles (not in the round). I used a pair of 3.25mm knitting needles (US size 3). These are mostly knitted in stockinette stitch, and I added yarn-over eyelets on the bride’s skirt. Other techniques I used include working increases and decreases, and knitting stripes (changing colour at the end of a row). To make your dolls will also need a stitch holder, a tapestry needle for seaming, and a bag of toy filling. The finished dolls stand at 15.5cm and 16.5cm tall. 💍💍💍
I hope you enjoy knitting your dolls, keep safe out there, and happy knitting!
