I am excited to introduce my new Ballerina doll knitting pattern. Knit up this lovable little dancer for yourself or for loved ones to cuddle and play with! I knitted my doll using Deramores Studio Anti-Pilling DK yarn, which is an acrylic washable DK weight yarn is great for toy making. My ballerina has on outfit with puffed sleeves and a double layer tutu, and crochet straps for her slippers. There is no tricky colour-work in this pattern, merely simple stripes (changing colour at the end of the row). My ballerina has a hair cap that is knitted separately and sewn onto the head. This pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters, and the ballerina is knitted on single pointed needles (not in the round). I used a pair of 3.25mm knitting needles (US size 3). A third needle is required to work a three needle bind off for the tutu. The doll is mostly knitted in stockinette stitch, with a ribbed pattern on the hair cap. I used a 2.5mm crochet hook to work single chains for the slippers. Other techniques I used include working a long tail cast on, increases and decreases. To make your doll will also need a stitch holder, a tapestry needle for seaming, a bag of toy filling, and a metre of black DK yarn to embroider the features. The finished doll stands at 18.5cm tall. 🩰️❤️🩰❤️🩰
I hope you enjoy knitting your doll, keep safe out there, and happy knitting!
