Packing away after a day of fun or study will be child’s play with my quick and easy knitted pencil case, which you can also use to store your knitting needles. My new knitting pattern is making an exclusive appearance in Simply Knitting magazine this month. You can find the knitting pattern in issue 209, available in shops or you can subscribe online for digital or print editions from Simply Knitting. I made this case in Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK yarns, but any DK (light worsted weight or 8 ply yarn) can be used. Instead of a black graphite pencil tip you could use different colours to make colouring pencils. This is knitted flat (back on forth) on a pair of 3.5mm single pointed needles. This case has a knitted lining, and the “walls” are strengthened with plastic canvas grids cut to shape (you can omit that step if you prefer). What’s the scariest movie to show a pencil? ... Point Break! I hope you like this one, keep safe out there, and happy knitting!
