For a sweet Christmas! Two of my Christmas knits are making an exclusive appearance in Simply Knitting magazine this month; my Gingerbread House decoration and Christmas stockings for pets. You can find these knitting patterns in issue 205. Gingerbread HouseMy Gingerbread House is decorated with buttons and bows, and will look sweet beneath your tree or on your mantlepiece. I used a slip stitch pattern to make the lattice-work on the roof, and i-cord tubes as icing. My house is knitted in Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK acrylic yarn, and is worked flat on a pair of single-pointed needles. Pet Christmas StockingsGive your pets a treat this Christmas with a stocking each for cats and dogs, plus knitted treats for your four-legged friends. You don’t need to know how to knit socks to make this stocking, the shaping is just simple increases and decreases, and these incorporate Fair-Isle colour-work patterns. There is a knitted bone for your faithful dog and little fish for kitty (and for safety, pet toys should be used under supervision). I hope you enjoy making these festive decorations, please keep safe, and happy knitting!
