Introducing my Albie the Alpaca knitting pattern with his colourful saddle blanket. My new knitting pattern is exclusive to the Autumn issue of Your Crochet & Knitting magazine. The magazine also comes with a yarn kit and needles to make your toy. Albie is knitted in 4 ply yarns, and for the body two of the yarn colours (grey and white) are held double to create the variegated look for the fleece. All the alpaca pieces are knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight single-pointed knitting needles. The saddle blanket incorporates a slip stitch knitting pattern, and the reins are single crochet chains. I used the colourful yarns to make tassels to decorate it too. Albie is 19 cm tall, a perfect size to stand on your desk and keep you company all day. I had great fun designing this, and I do hope you enjoy knitting your alpacas too. 🦙❤️ 🦙❤️ Keep safe out there, and happy knitting! About the magazine ...
Your Crochet & Knitting is a quarterly newsstand title, widely available in supermarkets, newsagents and craft stores across the UK as well as select retailers worldwide. The magazine also comes with a yarn kit which includes 8 balls of 4-ply yarn, a 3mm crochet hook and 3.5mm knitting needles so you can get started on the projects right away.
